Windows 8 or its upgraded version Windows 8.1 is a latest operating system by Microsoft with a completely innovative interface as compared to a traditional interface of Windows that was followed till windows vista or 7.Most of the users of PCs are switching to Windows 8/ 8.1 after inspiring from its new eye-catching looks and if you are among those users then the finest way to install Windows 8 or 8.1 on a PC is to do a clean install. To do this follow our step by step guide to get what you want. But before installation, you must know the system requirements required to install Windows 8 or 8.1.
Processor: should be 1 GHz or faster including support for NX, PAE, and SSE2
RAM: should be 1 GB for 32-bit OS or 2GB for 64-bit OS
HDD: should be 16 GB available for 32-bit OS or 20 GB for 64-bit OS
Graphics card: should be DirectX 9 graphics device having WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
Step 1 – Attach a bootable device with windows 8 or 8.1 and restart your PC. Windows will start to boot up and a screen with rotating progress bar will appear in front of you.
Step 2 – After that a screen will appear in front of you asking to you to setup your time format, language, currency method, and keyboard or input method. Choose the required settings and click NEXT to proceed further.
Step 3 – The next screen will appear in front of you with two options i-e install or repair. As you are doing clean install of windows, select the INSTALL NOW option.
Step 4 – Installation of windows will start as shown below.
Step 5 – During installation you will be asked to enter product key that came with your copy of windows 8 or 8.1 .After entering product key, click NEXT to continue.
Step 6 – A window showing license and terms of agreement will appear after entering product key. Accept the license and click NEXT.
Step 7 – After agreeing to terms and conditions, select your required type of installation. In case of clean installation, select CUSTOM.
Step 8 – Choose the location where you would like to install Windows 8 or 8.1. In case of single hard drive, first make partition and then install windows in primary hard drive .
Step 9– After selection of hard drive and proceeding further, Windows will start to copy files to your hard drive and begins the installation. This process will take time depending on your PCs specification.
Step 10 – Windows will automatically restart after copying of all necessary files.
Step 11 – You will go through several restarts along with various information messages.
Step 12 – After several restarts, you will be presented by “Let’s go through a few basics” screen.
Step 13 – Now choose PC name and personalize the color of your own choice.
Step 14- Here you can choose customize or express settings. It is recommended to choose CUSTOMIZE settings.
Step 15 – After selection of customize settings options, this screen will appear in front of you. Choose Yes, to turn on sharing and connect to devices.
Step 16 – Here you can choose your preferred option and click next.
Step 17 – Sign in to your PC using your Microsoft account. If you don’t have that, then click local account and choose a local user name and password to login. You can sign up and connect later your Microsoft account. Now windows will finalizes your settings and you will be presented with a new interface that will show successful installation of windows.
