The movie was retitled as The Boy and was previously named as The Inhabitant. This film is a supernatural horror film and is directed by William Brent Bell. Lauren Cohen is in the lead role of Greta, for the movie while it has been written by Stacey Menear. The film has been shot in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada and the filming began on 10th March, 2015. They film is due to be released on this Friday 22nd January, 2016.


The story of the film is about the this young woman Greta, an American girl who goes to a remote village, somewhere in United Kingdom after taking a job as a nanny. When she arrives there she come to know that they boy she was hired to take care of is really a life size porcellaneous doll which is treated by the parents like a real child in order to contend with the death of their son. But the story turns out to be something else and Greta finds about it after ignoring some certain set of rules. She discovers that the porcellaneous doll is actually alive or in other words, it is possessed.


Greta (Lauren Cohen)


She was born in Philadelphia and had her education from England in English literature and drama at University of Winchester. She has a fair bit of experience with theater before she moved on to do work in television and films. She has shown her great acting talents in Casanova (2005) and in National Lampoon’s Van Wilder: The Rise of Taj (2006). She also secured her spot in television series Supernatural and also did a negative role in the second installment of Death Race.

 Malcolm (Rupert Evans)

After his graduation from Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art, he has primarily focused working in the television. His notable work is in British costume drama titled Sons & Lovers’, North and South, Fingersmith and Crime and Punishment. His television work include Paradise Heights, A Midsummer Nights Dream and Rockface. His first movie was Hellboy and after doing it he turned his focus to independent film and theater. In 2009 he did work in Agora and then appeared in The Canal in 2014.

Mr. Heelshire (Jim Norton)

Jim is an Irish actor born on 4th January, 1938 in Dublin as James Norton and is known for his roles in American History X in 1998, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in 2002 and Water for Elephants in 2011. He is playing the role of the parent of the possessed doll in the movie.

Mrs. Heelshire (Diana Hardcastle)


Diana Hardcastle was born in England and was married to Tom Wilkinson. She is known for her acting in If Only in 2004, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel in 2011 and in its second installment The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel in 2015. She is playing the role of the parent of that porcellaneous doll coping the death of her son.

The Boy, Brahams (Jett Klyne)


As a little kid, Jett has some good experience under his belt working on the sets of Heart of Dance in 2013, a short film The Nightmare in 2015 and some due to be released works such as 13 Steps, Puppet Killer, The Craft, Writing Kim and of course The Boy all lined up for the year 2016.

Sandy (Stephanie Lemelin)


The versatile actress is from New Jersey, USA and has been appearing in both films and television, dramas and comedies and has worked for many animated movies, games and commercials by giving her voice to the characters and has also produced and written a couple of movies.

The movie is not very much in the news especially in comparison with others but is definitely not competing with the likes of big budget movies as well. However, with some pretty good experienced personnel both in front and at the back of the scenes The Boy is all set to give its audience some chills to remember for a decent amount of time. The film is releasing this Friday and we are waiting to have a look at this supernatural flick so, get ready to have some fun with the creepy joy ride with this demonic doll.
