Cast of Beauty and the Beast (2017)
The upcoming fairy tale that has been updated to a live-action version is releasing on 17th March 2017 with new twist and turns in the story line. Director Bill Condon has given this iconic masterpiece a new look not only in the storyline but also the songs too. Alan Menken who is the 8 time Oscar winner is scoring the film’s music and he has already mentioned that this version will not feature any of the songs written for Broadway musical. The story will also different from those told by Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont and Linda Woolverton in the past but the characters have all been taken and none will miss out here.
The work is produced by Don Hahn, David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman while the story is written by Evan Spiliotopoulos. The movies was announced on 16th March, 2016 with principle photography being started on in London on 18th May, 2015. Emma Watson was the first one to disclose about her role well before anyone else because she was very excite for this. She made an announcement through Twitter on 26th January, 2015 that she is going to be Belle for her up coming project named Beauty and the Beast. Then in her another tweet she mentioned that Luke Evans and Dan Stevens are going to be Gaston and the Beast respectively. Let’s have a look at the final cast of all the crucial characters in the movie;
Emma Watson as Belle
For many, Emma Watson is the ideal individual to play this role why, because she is a fresh face with a very strong will and of course she is splendidly gorgeous and we know that she can carry herself very well in this role however, she did mention that she is a bit nervous about her singing scenes in the movie.
Dan Stevens as the Beast
We all know that Dan is the last person on earth to be referred as a beast but this will surely look cool when he will appear in the charming monster with his accent. Dan’s voice morphed on this hideous prince will be a treat to watch using prosthetic and CGI. He himself is very excite about his role in the movie.
Luke Evans as Gaston
With plenty of experience under his belt he is definitely the right choice for the roll especially after his role as Shaw in Fast & Furious 6. But one thing is for sure he needs to put on some muscles before he starts being Gaston.
Josh Gad as LeFou
This is by far the perfect match throughout the whole cast as Josh really can walk and talk like a bumbling sidekick as LeFou is but of course in a nice way. We are over the moon to see how Josh tells everybody that Gaston is the best and how everyone wants to be like him.
Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts
She does not need any introduction as she has been starring in so many iconic roles over the years. We thought that Angela Lansbury was absolutely perfect being Mrs. Potts and nobody can ever replace her in this role but along came Emma Thompson and proved everyone wrong.
Kevin Kline as Maurice
Very versatile actor plays as the crazy inventor, Maurice and so it should be because no one else could have performed better in this role. However, we do hope that the star from Fish Called Wanda do put on some extra pounds and obviously, grow that mustache of his.
Ian McKellen as Cogsworth
Sir Ian is probably the most exciting part of this cast and he will play the role of a finical little clock and give it a new life. Sir Ian was highly praised for his role of Gandalf and Magneto and many more and he is ready to be a very anxious little timepiece.
Ewan McGregor as Lumiere
He is in the film with possibly the best musical number performing the role of Lothario candlestick.
Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette
The star from Beyond the Lights will be the duster and with this makeover this will be her most glamorous role ever, and she will continue to say sweet french things to Lumiere.
Audra McDonald as Garderobe
Garderobe can be the most important role of the career of Audra as this Broadway star gets a chance to be among the assets of Hollywood and she will get to be the wardrobe in the movie.
Stanley Tucci as Candenza
This is something that will raise some eyebrows and the reason is simple, the character of Candenza was not even in the original feature. But why not cast Stanley Tucci in the movie and introduce a character for him and we got the best suited role too, a piano! How about that?
